The Event: The FTRLNK Job Fair was hosted by Partners in Tourism on November 7th at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. This event aimed to connect Vancouver’s hospitality industry leaders with enthusiastic and eager job seekers. For this event, Partners in Tourism need assistance from KindCo with event promotion, communication and day-of support.
The Format:
The morning session consisted of keynote speeches from some of Vancouver’s leading industry professionals, including the Director of Human Resources at Shangri-La Vancouver, the General Manager at Delta Vancouver Downtown Suites, the Director of Talent Acquisition - at the Fairmont Pacific Northwest and the Director of Operations, Hotel, River Rock Casino Resort. Over lunch, attendees could hop into a career pod for the opportunity to chat with industry professionals.
The afternoon was kickstarted with a resume workshop, followed by a job fair for the remainder of the day. At the job fair session, attendees were able to meet and connect with senior and HR executives from 24 different Vancouver-based hotels. A photographer was on site providing complimentary LinkedIn headshots to help candidates elevate their personal brand while seeking employment.
Ahead of the event, KindCo provided support by creating a social media marketing campaign, pre-promoting the event to drive attendance, and managing event RSVPs.
During the event, KindCo monitored the registration desk, ensuring a smooth check-in process and providing guests with a warm welcome. We also captured social content throughout the event, showcasing the great turnout and vibrant atmosphere. We were also responsible for providing an attendance report to Partners in Tourism after the event to highlight the successful attendance rate. The event exceeded attendance expectations with over four hundred candidates attending.
