Partners in Tourism

The Event: Partners in Tourism hosted the 17th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament at the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club on August 25. This event is Partners in Tourism’s flagship fundraiser, fueling funding for bursaries that help youth join the tourism industry.

The Format:

The tournament was an action-filled day, beginning with a brunch at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Woodlands Terrace, then a full day of golf, followed by a 19th-hole reception and gala dinner. The event relies on support from the tourism industry, raising funds through sponsorship and silent auctions. They aim to raise funds for future generations of tourism professionals.

In the run-up to the event, KindCo supported by updating the event website, developing and deploying the communication strategy, providing customer support for the 144 golfers, creating the sponsorship package, managing golf registration, and helping to ensure sponsors were highlighted in Partners in Tourism communications. We managed the hole sponsors, ensuring they got all the support they needed for their hole activations from power to ice.

For the event day, KindCo helped ensure the AV teams were briefed and coordinated, branding was in place, and the silent auction items were set. The event and auction raised over $185,000 to support education and growth opportunities for young people pursuing careers in hospitality and tourism.
